1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer in light blue with top removed — passenger-side profile, restored by Morgan Muscle Cars in Pelham, Alabama

1972 Chevrolet
K5 Blazer.

LS3 4L80 Light Blue Pelham, AL

The drivetrain sets the tone. An LS3 sits under the hood wearing a vintage-style intake, so the engine bay reads like a dressed small-block until you look closely. Behind it is a 4L80 automatic and a billet transfer case, with a custom exhaust carrying the sound out the back. Wilwood brakes bring it all to a stop.

Underneath, the suspension is a combination we come back to on these trucks: Deaver leaf springs, BDS suspension components, and Fox shocks. KMC wheels fill the wells. Up front, a billet grille replaces the stamped original, and billet emblems and trim carry that theme down the sides and around the back, where sequential billet taillights finish it off.

The interior is a fully custom package, front to back, with Dakota Digital gauges in the dash, Restomod air conditioning for Alabama summers, and a custom stereo. The cargo area got a wood floor, which is the one detail people reach out and touch every time the top is off.

Set it next to our silver '72 classic driver and the frame-off 1984 and you can see how wide the range on a K5 build really is. If a Blazer like this is what you've been picturing, the K5 Blazer restoration page covers how we approach them.
